Nedlands 8MA was a modest, single story new build on an East/West facing block that was designed by the clients with a northerly aspect embracing solar passive principals of design. From the beginning the house was designed with the garden in mind, the clients wanted garden views from all rooms of the house and wanted to feel a connection to nature. They have 3 small kids and love playing cricket in the back yard, so a big patch of turf was high on their wish list.
This large family home on 1012sqm has 63 tree’s for screening, shading and interest. The garden is big and needed to look great all year round whilst being easy to care for. We used muted colours and lots of textures to create year-round interest with different textural ‘green on green’ plants that offer floral displays at different times throughout the year, while providing a lush green feel and stunning garden year-round.
The use of timber battens and contrasting exposed aggregate offers texture and interest and help makes the green foliage jump out. The clean white brickwork from the original workshop provide a beautiful frame for the garden beds in front
We were super impressed with Suzanne’s initial design and her follow up service to get the right contractors. Having renovated before, the follow up management of the entire project made our lives so easy
Suzanne from Lefroy Design created a complex garden that was the perfect marriage for the front of the house, and the rear, it turned out to be amazing !! Suzanne advised us against creating a fashion statement. So glad she did as this garden will still be stunning in 20 years’ time
Suzanne’s down to earth advice was invaluable $10,000 under budget and an absolute stunning street scape. Couldn’t be happier
